We are so lucky to have Grandma Haynie. Thanks for helping Laura, we've been a bunch of sickies in our house, but didn't have to worry because we knew Laura was in good hands. Also, she made a special birthday cake for Matt and we got to celebrate with her early....a miracle Amber wasn't sick on Thursday, she waited till after our visit with Grandma Haynie, Gabe, Laura, Branden, Emelyn, Kevin, and Sean! That night she spiked a temp! Good Grief! So we got to meet adorable Sean and spend a little time with everybody.
Sunday Amber seemed better, but had a low grade temp, so I took her to Dr.'s yesterday...she puked in the van (only on her and car seat since she didn't eat dinner the night before and stared at breakfast before laying in a chair). Dr. said...double ear infection=antibiotics. That should cover whatever else ails her and hopefully she'll get over the stomach bug. Poor thing. Still no fever and no additional throw up, so hooray! Soon she will have been on antibiotics for 24 hrs.
So, as of now, we are still going to Chicago this week for family vacation/celebrate Matt's birthday. :) We'll lay low today and pack.

05 Sienna
We bought a van today, we pick it up tomorrow. It's decked out. DVD player, the rear and side doors open automatically, all leather and it's AWD. It's nice, you'll have to catch a ride with us some time.
China Kat
When we were in San Francisco we went to China town and bought a couple of jade animals for the kids. We were only home long enough to go to church and pick up the kids before we were in Chicago. So Amber and Julie got their animals in Chicago. Julie promptly broke off her turtle's head. Amber enjoyed hers for a few days, she left it at a restaurant. Then one night she flushed the toilet and dropped her cat, it bounced off of the toilet seat and into the drain. It was flushed away. She was devastated. To this day she talks about the cat. Once she said that Jesus could get her cat back. That was enough to get Kristy looking on ebay. So today the cat from big China arrived. She was so excited and voluntarily promised never to drop it down the toilet again.

Madagascar
We bought Madagascar II the other day. Yesterday out of the blue, Amber said, "Smile and wave boys, smile and wave". It was cute, almost as cute as when she quotes Dumbo, "Out of my way, assassin!" BTW, we didn't enjoy the second Madagascar as much as the first. The second one seemed to suffer from the writers wondering where to go since the first one was over.

Irony
When the time changed about 5 months ago, instead of changing the time in my truck (due to DST) I just left it the way it was thinking it would be back on time eventually. Well today I finalized the sale on the truck and watched it drive away. Tonight the time changes back.

Thursday Complex
This is the Third Thurday in a ROW where someone in my family gets a fever and feels so sick. It's Matt's turn this time. Last Thursday was mine and the Thursday before that, it was Amber. Julie has been sick, too, not starting on a Thursday, though and she better not even think about it for next Thursday! Seriously, it's nuts! I still haven't kicked my cold, but I've had no fever for a while. I just want to be 100% better and meet Laura's new baby.
tacoma
I sold my truck today. We looked at mini-vans yesterday. I thought I would put the truck up for an optomistic price and see what happened on craigslist. I got about 4 calls this morning and one lady came out to look at it. She put a down payment on it and will give me my asking price as soon as I can produce the title. She'll pay in cash. I paid it off this afternoon, so the title should arrive in a few days. Then we'll really need to look for a van of some sort....I'm going to miss my truck. Actually I think a few people will miss my truck.

PEFCU
I've been banking with PEFCU (Purdue Employee Federal Credit Union) now for about 10 years. At times their website has been slow, but for the most part it's been a good experience. Except for the past month. They sent out new cards because they said our new ones were compromised. But it turns out that the new ones they sent me were the compromised ones so shortly after getting them they disabled them, and of course it came as a surprise to me. So I went a week without them (while I was traveling - very convenient) until the new ones arrived. I've had them for a week now with no trouble until we went to use the overdraft protection and guess what? Not only does the over draft protection not work but Kristy's credit card also didn't work! So we went home and moved plenty of money over from our savings account and then we were able to take our wall-mart groceries home. Thanks PEFCU! Thanks for letting me know that I no longer have the same services available to me that were available before. It's not like they don't have my email address! I get SPAM from them all the time, the least they could do is alert me via email. I'll be closing my account in the morning over the phone.
