I've been amazed at work as I realize how often the correct response is no response at all!

I have found that same thing, only not just at work. I see it in personal lives as well. You never know, anymore, when you make a statement, even if it is correct, who you may insult.

I will!! I have been around certain medical conditions since I was 11 yrs old. Over the years I have learned alot of stuff, more about my own illness of course. So when I went in for training, I was able to go through training without the use of the clinics book. When told I would need the book for reference, I explained I had done this so much, starting before these nurses even started school, till now. They took offense, seemingly, because they were the nurses. Funny, however, is not one of these nurses have ever been ill like this. Try to explain to someone, that they only train people, but it is like myself, those who live it and do it every day. They tend to take offense.
