I watched this movie today, it is so nuts. If it weren't for the flash version it would drive me insane. I watched both (thanks Netflix). I think I need to use HAL as a theme for something.

you just now saw 2001? that movie is dope!! I agree the flash explanation is handy. We watched it in a film class I took in college.
Do you know where Kubrick got the name HAL?
I saw it in High School. Kubrick says he didn't get the name from IBM...
Kubrick doesn't say anything now, he's dead.
