Money? Guns? Government agencies? Certain magazines? Tobacco, coffee & alcohol factories? I hope that he can come up with some really cool energy sources to put oil and nuclear power to rest or at least provide a solution to nuclear waste. I'm pretty sure I would still be employable as a network engineer. I think Ron Paul would be satisfied with the changes in government.

I have always thought that medical services would be obsolete. Wouldn't that be something? We have such a huge medical community, and still not enough nurses and doctors. What would we do with all those facilities? The one thing that will never be obsolete is teaching/learning. I think the computers will be more sophisticated, but they will help to organize and run everything that is still viable.
Do you think after Judgement Day we will still take the sacrament every week?
Who knows, Matt, those things may very well become obsolete before He comes.
I like Sumo Girls comment. I think lots of things will already be obsolete. Take for instance the US dollar...Trending toward obsoletism sometime late September at this rate.
Even when the Savior comes, I think there will be those who reject him, so I'm not sure every "ungodly" thing will be instantly done away, as they won't be compelled to accept Him. I do think it will all slowly be phased out. I can't wait to see.
Labor pains, I hope.
Matt? I hear you are sick. I hope everything is ok. You seem distant to me. I can't believe you can't get into the Dr. for over a week. That is insane. They should be able to see you the same day for a sick visit. If you need the names of some good Dr's let me know. No man should have to suffer.
I think when Jesus came to earth, the first time, even the worst of things were still here. I think as technology progresses, oil will not be obsolete, but used in as a minor ingredient. I hope those things you have stated will be obsolete. I think if Governments would allow certain testings, medical fields as we know it would go away, along with giant pharmacutical(sp?) companies.
As I understand it, "telestial" people will get entirely wiped out at the Second Coming. They won't be able to withstand the Lord's presence. And He will not visit the Telestial Kingdom in the eternities, according to Section 76.
Among the survivors of the 2nd Coming will be both Celestial and Terrestial people. My take on Section 76 is that Terrestial people will include many people who don't necessarily believe in God and Christ, but will be good and honest people of many religions or no religion.
I hope guns aren't done away with in the Millennium. Target shooting and trap shooting are fun. I hope it's not a sin to use guns to punch holes in paper and break up flying clay discs.
re: oil. Isn't it time for Shale Oil or coal liquefaction?
Shale oil is supposed to be cost-effective when crude oil is at $100/barrel.
And gasoline from coal is supposed to be cost-effective when oil is at $35/barrel?
So where are they (shale oil and coal liquefaction)?
