This morning I was released as Ward Clerk! I have been performing as Ward Clerk for nearly 2 years. It has been fun, challenging and I would do it again. At the moment I have no calling other than home teacher, which I will be doing for a couple of hours tonight. I feel that it is only a matter of a few weeks before I'm called to teach a primary class. Although I would love to serve in the Elders Quorum. But the Quorum is fairly new so I'm pretty sure I'll be preparing lessons for little ones soon. The good thing about teaching in primary is that I won't be going to any auxiliary meetings. The downside is that I'll be getting the kids to church by myself every other Sunday so that Kristy can start going to the meeting she has been missing out on.

The new Ward Clerk asked why they released me, I told him I was getting excommunicated. Ha!
If you are not called for awhile, you will not know what to do with yourself. For the many years after I was baptized, I was either in the Young Mens, or Scouts. When I was released, I didn't have a calling for quite awhile, other than Home Teacher. I must say I would much rather have a calling than not. I can see why some people actually fall away from the Church when they have no calling.
If you are not called to a position, your Bishop should be notified by you or Kristy. Everyone is supposed to have that opportunity.
You'll probably get put in as a person that has to attend the YM/YW weekly activities and Bishop Youth Councils.
Mom, I think the Bishop knows...I think it was his idea. Biffy, you are probably right. You have crushed any hope I had of regaining any time I thought I was getting back.
You can't get a calling any cooler than mine: Activity Days Assistant. Yes, and the Activity Days leader is super-organized and already had years worth of activities planned so all I have to do is show up and play with the girls twice a month.
Matt--the Bishop knows, and so does Kristy...I think cub scouts would be the place for you. A bunch of rowdy 8 year-olds once a week. Or cub master.
